Scott Muir’s Story: Survival, Surfing & San Clemente

Scott Muir is a former Division 1 soccer player at the Air Force Academy, a 12-year Air Force pilot, husband, dad, surfer, and San Clemente local with one of the most powerful stories we’ve heard on the podcast. In this episode, Scott sits down with Jeff Moore and Brian de la Puente to talk about growing up through sports, playing soccer at the Air Force Academy, pilot training, marriage, fatherhood, and the day a surf accident at DMJ’s changed his life. Scott walks through the moment he realized he was paralyzed face down in the water, the young surfer named Judah who pulled him out, the recovery process that followed, and what it has taken to relearn everything from walking to surfing. But this episode is bigger than the accident. It’s about mindset, marriage, community, the people who show up when life gets heavy, and how one moment in the water turned into a story of survival, gratitude, and family.
